Sidwell Announces GNSS StatViewer Extension to ArcPad 10

St. Charles, IL – The Sidwell Company is proud to announce their GNSS StatViewer, a software extension for Esri® ArcPad® 10. The new extension provides GNSS statistics to the field user, ensuring that the desired accuracy is provided during the collection process. GNSS StatViewer provides the following information: Number of Satellites Used, Differential Mode, Differential Correction Age, Position Dilution of Precision (PDOP) Horizontal Positional Error (HPE) and Vertical Positional Error (VPE).

Not only is GNSS StatViewer able to provide these statistics in the ArcPad 10 software while in the field, it is also capable of recording the statistics to the Esri feature class as an attribute while the data is being collected. When a license of GNSS StatViewer is purchased, the included geo-processing tool automatically creates the necessary fields in the Esri Geodatabase or Shapefile. This capability allows the user to adequately track and manage field collected statistics and make certain your project meets specification.

GNSS StatViewer is developed for Ashtech®—specific GPS or GNSS hardware, and is compatible with the following products:

Sidwell Debuts Parcel Fabric Services and Solutions at Esri International User Conference

St. Charles, IL – The Sidwell Company, in its ongoing commitment to providing their customers with services and solutions based on the latest innovations, technologies and best practices in the geospatial industry, will debut its parcel fabric services and solutions at the 2011 Esri International User Conference, July 11-15 in San Diego, California. Parcel Builder®, Sidwell’s suite of comprehensive land records management software, now includes tools to manage cadastral data within the parcel fabric, and will be demonstrated at the conference. Attendees are encouraged to visit Sidwell at Booth #1306 to learn more about these exciting developments.

Sidwell’s GPS and Survey Solutions, which include the GNSS StatViewer application, will also be on display. An LTI TruPulse 360B Laser rangefinder integrated with ArcPad via the LaserGIS for ArcPad Extension will be at the booth as well.

Sidwell Selected to Provide GIS Data Conversion Services for Chaves County, New Mexico

St. Charles, IL – Chaves County, located in southeast New Mexico, covers approximately 6,071 square miles and includes approximately 33,000 land parcels. The County recognized a need for a state of the art mapping system to optimize GIS-based land records management and keep their maps as current as possible. The County turned to The Sidwell Company to provide the professional GIS services to enable them to achieve these goals.

As part of this project, Sidwell will convert the County’s existing CAD-based cadastral data into an Esri® geodatabase. The County also elected to purchase Sidwell’s Parcel Builder® software. Parcel Builder is a suite of software developed by Sidwell for the specific purpose of creating and maintaining cadastral maps. It is compliant with ArcGIS® 10, and extends the functionality of Esri’s ArcGIS software platform by introducing over 40 tools to improve GIS-based land records workflows. Sidwell will provide on-site training to the County on ArcGIS 10 and Parcel Builder.

Sidwell is also pleased to provide the County with their state of the art ArcGIS Server website, Portico. Sidwell will develop and host the website for the County. The website will integrate with their existing County webpage and Assessor data.

According to Ron Lethgo, County Assessor, “Chaves County is looking forward to using the Parcel Builder software, which will give us the ability to streamline our mapping processes. Neal Carpenter Named IAAO Delegate to COGO

In his role as delegate, Carpenter will be will be working closely with the IAAO Board and COGO to help advance a variety of geospatial issues that would benefit the ability of IAAO’s members to better serve the public. Neal has over 30 years’ experience in the geospatial data industry, and possesses the designation of Cadastral Mapping Specialist (CMS) from IAAO.

The IAAO was one of eleven organizations that served as Founding Members of COGO, which was developed to provide a forum for groups concerned with national geospatial issues. Their focus is on initiatives that will improve communications among the member organizations and geospatial community, to provide relevant education to their respective members, to align and strengthen their policy agendas, and to facilitate development of strategies to address national geospatial issues.
