Sidwell has been partnering with local governments and agencies for over 25 years to implement ArcGIS, including migrating from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro. Weโve developed a proven, repeatable method for seamless migrations, and weโre ready to create a tailored plan for your agency. With our expertise and training on your workflows, you can proceed with confidence. Letโs get started on your migration today !

Sidwell provides a comprehensive analysis of your current ArcGIS environment, including ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online. We upgrade your GIS workstations to ArcGIS Pro, installing and configuring the software on your teamโs devices using your existing Esri licenses.
Key Modules
Map Conversion
Convert ArcGIS Desktop map documents (.mxd) to ArcGIS Pro project files (.aprx).
Database Upgrade
Upgrade Agency Geodatabases to the latest version compatible with ArcGIS Pro.
Workflow Migration
Document and replace existing ArcGIS Desktop workflows in ArcGIS Pro. Packages are available to accommodate varying workflow volumes.
Publishing Script Updates
As part of the Advanced package (or as an add-on to Basic/Standard), update automated publishing scripts for feature services.
Installation and Licensing
Weโll handle installing the software and accessing your ArcGIS licenses, if needed.
ArcGIS Pro Training and Enablement
Sidwell will perform two to three (2-3) days of training and enablement to Agency staff on the tools and functionality of ArcGIS Pro. This training can be used for the workflows weโve migrated, end-user tasks, administrative functionality, and/or a combination of both. The exact contents of the training will be planned in consultation with the Agency.
ArcGIS Pro Ongoing Support
Sidwell wouldnโt want the end of the training to be our last contact with you! Letโs set up support to ensure your success over the long-term. We offer package options for ongoing support, so that if you get stuck, you can turn to us and weโll get you back up and running again. Please contact us for more information on ongoing support packages, as theyโre not included in the pricing given below.
ArcMap is Coming to An End
Mature Status
March 1, 2024 โ February 28, 2026
During this phase, Esri will no longer provide functionality-based patches, hotfixes, or service packs for ArcMap 10.8.x. Users can still create support cases and access a range of online resources, such as knowledge bases, product documentation, and community forums. While Esri may attempt to address critical, exploitable security vulnerabilities if technically and commercially feasible, it is important to note that support for third-party components is limited due to their aging software nature. As ArcMap includes several third-party components with limited ongoing support, there may be restrictions on what can be addressed. Furthermore, Esri will not certify new environments or major versions of environments released during the mature phase. While the product can still be used with new environments, Esri does not guarantee compatibility.
Retirement Status
March 01, 2026
Once ArcMap enters the Retired phase, it will no longer be available for use, and users can expect the following changes. Software patches, hotfixes, and new environment certifications will no longer be provided. Additionally, phone and chat support will be discontinued. While users can still access the Esri Online Support Center, the content available will not be updated for retired products like ArcMap. Users will still have access to existing documents such as the knowledge base, product documentation, web help, and other support-related resources, but no new updates will be made.
Add-Ons
Sidwell offers two essential ArcGIS Pro Add-Ins to enhance your migration:
FARMS
The Farmland Assessment and Report Management System (FARMS) simplifies productivity-based agricultural land assessment with robust validation and reporting features. It ensures accurate, consistent calculations and automatically updates land values after parcel edits using soils and land-use layers.
Parcel Administrator
Parcel Administrator streamlines land records management by automating parcel numbers, tracking parent-child relationships, and integrating with Tax and CAMA systems. It also generates lineage reports and syncs Parcel ID numbers with CAMA.
When you migrate away from ArcMap, your organization needs to perform the same workflows in ArcGIS Pro, and youโll need the right tools to replicate all that functionality. These two pieces of software often replace workflows that many agencies currently have in ArcMap, based on our experience with hundreds of organizations across 30 US States. These tools will serve you well as you move into ArcGIS Pro and need to bring over all the same functionality of your current tools.
Note: these tools are not included in the pricing given below.
