As we get closer to Summer, we would like to start showcasing some of our employees to help you get to know Sidwell even better than before. To do this, we have implemented an “Employee Spotlight” Q & A that we are going to be publishing monthly. Each month we will pick out a different employee and give them some questions to see what their answers might be! Some personal and some work related, but all to gain a better understanding of those working for Sidwell.
Employee Spotlight Background
Our first Employee Spotlight for the month of June is Megan Sneddon!
Megan is a key member of the Accela implementation team. Her responsibilities revolve around analysis, configuration, training, and automation involved with the implementation of Accela Automation software. Areas of focus include agency set-up, configuration, and Accela GIS.
Prior to joining the Accela Implementation team, Megan assisted the business development team. She aided in creating marketing materials, updating the company website, maintaining social media accounts, as well as updating Sidwell’s Portico websites.
Q & A
What is the coolest thing you’re working on right now? Why?
Utilizing the Accela software to accommodate several agencies that are transitioning from paper and checks to online processes for business license renewals.
If you could be any animal, which would you be?
A crab? Hear me out, because I would get to hang out at the beach all the time.
What is your favorite thing about GIS?
That you have to ask yourself what CAN’T I use this for?
If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Red, always been one of my favorite colors.
What do you enjoy most about your job and/or working at Sidwell?
That I’m given a chance to interact and learn from so many intelligent people who have been in the industry for a long time, but also given the trust and encouragement to work independently and become a leader myself.
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I can name every capital of every country, and point to them on a blank map! (this isn’t always very secret)
Where would you travel if you were given the chance?
All 30 MLB baseball fields. I’ve only been to 6, so I have a lot of work to do.
