The Logan County Assessor’s Office identified a need for a modern GIS solution that made land records and parcel data accessible and enhanced the user experience with a user-friendly platform. The county also sought to reduce in-person inquiries and associated costs while quickly providing accurate, up-to-date information.
Solution : Portico
Logan County worked with Esri partner Sidwell to implement Portico, a search-centric platform that serves as a one-stop shop for parcel management. As part of the county’s existing ArcGIS subscription, Portico was included at no extra cost and did not require any customization.
The Portico solution provides a dashboard that showcases parcel data, including valuation trends, flood zone classifications, and a property tax calculator. The easy access to property specifics ensures the public can find the information they need quickly.
Results
Implementing Portico has increased transparency and efficiency between the assessor’s office and the public, including:
- Increased self-service: Users can access property information from any device without staff assistance.
- Cost savings: Fewer phone calls and in-person inquiries have reduced overhead and staff workload.
